| It takes two..   This radio restoration started with one Emerson 541. Known for being the last radio to use the large size tubes and being a really sensitive radio tuning wise. The Emerson had a good wooden case along with it's internals being in good condition. Unfortunatly it had a big crack in it's really rare and hard to find plastic dial face. We luckily found the exact same radio on Ebay with a none cracked dial face. When we recieved the Ebay Emerson we relized that the plastic dial face was the only thing usefull. The rest o the radio had a mold problem inside and out. Sad story but we at least scavanged some parts before disposing the toxic rest. With a good amount of elbow grease and some plastic polish we got the really yellowed dial to clear up and look great. Third Bay Radios 518-466-8673 info@thirdbayradios.com |
