The Grantline 606, Series A
This is one nice Grantline, model 606, series A, AM radio. It is very similar to a BELMONT 6D111 "Streamliner". I was told that sometimes radio manufacturers marketed there product to different five and dime chain stores. With different chain stores came different brand names. I believe this is the story with this radio. This Grantline has basically the same chassis and case as the Belmont just slightly modified. Case is larger and layout of tubes slightly different. This Grantline has gotten Third Bay Radio's full restoration and it looks amazing. This particular model is so nice, style wise and tone wise, I have second thoughts about selling it. Real nice not so commonly seen radio.
Work Done
NO cracks in this case. Real nice straight lines throughout. A fresh coat of Mohawk light antique ivory paint gives it a nice glazed finish. All resistors have been checked and all capacitors have been replaced. Weak 12SQ7 replaced and all tubes tested strong. A new polarized power plug has been installed for safety. Chassis polished by hand to a shine. Dial face is in excellent shape along with a clear original dial shield freshly polished. Original push buttons and knobs to set.
Good Points on radio
This radio sounds better than the Belmont 6D111 in my opinion. I have played both side by side and this Grantline just sounds better to me by far. A deeper more solid tone. I can only guess the reason being is the design of the bigger case for the speaker to work with. I like this radio. It has 'the' dial, wrap around speaker bevels, and a good solid tone to it. This radio will stand out in any radio collection or room filled with antiques. Not so commonly seen a model. With its recent recapping and strong tubes this radio is also very station sensitive. A great radio all the way around.

Bad Points on radio
Original back is aged and worn around mounting holes and had to reinforce back, check picture. Original factory sticker on bottom not in best shape but present. One very small nick on one side bevel on the speaker side of radio. Not noticeable unless looking for it. Speaker had small tear and was repaired with speaker glue with no sacrifice to sound. That's it.
